Knicks, Pistons, and Hornets considered drafting Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell has made his case for being the Rookie of the Year this season and it's safe to say that he has been the steal of the draft.
He was picked at No. 13 by the Utah Jazz but new reports show that he could have been picked higher as the Knicks, Hornets, and Pistons were considering picking him.
Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune has the details:
None of these three teams have been great this season and coincidentally all are in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks drafted guard Frank Ntilikina who is considered as a two-way player, while the Hornets added shooting guard Malik Monk to their roster. Luke Kennard; another guard was picked by Detroit. None of the picks have worked as has Mitchell.
So far, Donovan Mitchell is looking like he is going to be an NBA star, averaging 19.9 points per game, and so the teams who had the chance to draft him may regret their choices.
