Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Think The Warriors Will Keep Core Together

Even though Kevin Durant, holds a player option for the 2017-2018 campaign and Steph Curry is set to be (July 1st) an unrestricted free agent, both MVPs seem to be more than happy in Golden State and are willing to keep the Warriors' core together.

"It's a special core; a special group," Durant said per Chris Haynes of ESPN. "It's a business of basketball, obviously, so nothing is for sure, but here, I feel like we can work that out and everybody will have a chance to do this again next year. It's easier said than done, but that's the goal." Curry agreed to the statements that were made by his teammate. "It would mean everything to stay together: what we've built is truly special."

The Warriors, however, could have as many as 10 players destined for free agency this offseason, depending on how things transpire. The possible free agents are the following: David West, Ian Clark, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, James McAdoo, Matt Barnes, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, but also Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

If the Warriors figure out how to keep this group (special core) together and remain largely intact, they have the opportunity to develop into the NBA's next dynasty and be remembered alongside the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics of the 1980s.
